“The Little Humpbacked Horse” received “The Golden Mask 2010”

The premiere of the new production of the ballet “The Little Humpbacked Horse” in the choreography by Alexei Ratmansky on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg in March 2009 caused an enthusiastic reception by the audience as well as by many critics. It is hardly surprising that one of the most prestigious theatre awards of Russia “The Golden Mask” nominated the new production of the ballet at once in five categories. The prize went to Alexei Ratmansky in the category “Ballet/Contemporary Dance – Best Balletmaster/Best Choreographer” and to Alina Somowa in the category “Ballet/Contemporary Dance /Best Actress” for the role of the Tsar Maiden. The “Golden Mask” theatre awards ceremony took place on 16 April in Moscow.
