“The Enchanted Wanderer” – the best opera recording
of the month
In
March 2010 the Mariinsky label has released its new CD with music works
of Rodion Shchedrin. This recording, performed by the soloists, chorus
and orchestra of the St Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre under the direction
of Valery Gergiev, has immediately drawn the attention of specialist circles
in music. The BBC Music Magazine hailed the opera “The Enchanted
Wanderer” as the best opera recording of the month (more information:

The other works on the CD are four fragments from the ballet “The
Little Humpbacked Horse” and the Concerto for Orchestra ? 1 “Naughty
Limericks”.
