Maya Plisetskaya assigned the “Vittorio De Sica Award”

The Italian Film Academy (Accademia del Cinema Italiano), internationally known for awarding the "David di Donatello Prizes”, honours Maya Plisetskaya with the "Premio Vittorio De Sica."
The president of the academy Gian Luigi Rondi gives reason for this decision “in recognition for the outstanding career” of the world-wide celebrated great diva of dance. This prize, which is awarded for remarkable artistic achievements and named after the legendary Italian actor and film-maker Vittorio De Sica, will be presented to Maya Plisetskaya personally on November 9th, 2009, by the President of Italy Giorgio Napolitano at the Quirinal Palace (Palazzo del Quirinale) in Rome.
