"Two autobiographies in dialogue" - Maya Plisetskaya and Rodion Shchedrin fill the audience in Berlin with enthusiasm

The presentation of the autobiographies of Maya Plisetskaya and Rodion Shchedrin is already the third successful co-operation in recent time between one of the most famous artistic couple of Russia and the Academy of Arts in Berlin.

In the last year’s autumn these two books were published as a German version by Schott Music with the titles "Haltung bewahren" (Maya Plisetskaya) and "Was man schreibt, ist unantastbar" (Rodion Shchedrin). In the evening of 11th March, 2010 the audience in Berlin had the unique opportunity to attend a reading in the presence of the authors. This culture event was entitled “Two autobiographies in dialogue”. According to this motto the actress Viola Sauer and the actor Max Volkert Martens read alternately some excerpts from the books. Beside of this some remarkable parts of the live recording of the ballet "The Seagull" (DVD produced by Arthaus Music) were shown – one of the most successful co-productions of Plisetskaya (choreography, dance) and Shchedrin (music). Finally the artists were invited for a panel discussion by Professor Dr. Ralf Stabel, the head of the State Ballet School in Berlin. The married couple allowed once more an insight to their private and professional life and expressed their wishes for the future.

It was a wonderful and successful evening. The house said goodbye to Plisetskaya and Shchedrin with a standing ovation.
