Rodion Shchedrin Chamber Music Award 2014 goes to Anna Gourari

Her extraordinary skills and commitment in the making public of the Rodion Shchedrin’s work bring the award-winning artist one additional and big prize: Ann Gourari receives the Rodion Shchedrin Chamber Music Award 2014 on the 29th of June. Rodion Shchedrin being the one of the most important Russian composers after Dmitry Shostakovich will award this pirze himself.
Together with his wife Maya Plisetskaya, former prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater and Prima ballerina Assoluta as she was once called, Rodion Shchedrin comes on the 29th of June to the Studion Concert in Gut Immling in Hafersdorf at Simsee. Anna Gourari who made her Debut on the 15th of April this year in Canegie Hall New York will give a breathtaking solo concert. It takes place in the studio of the well-known Artist Antje Tesche Meentzen. Ms. Gourari will play the works of Bach/Busoni, Chopin and of course, the 2nd Sonata of Rodion Shchedrin that he wrote for Yefim Bronfmann.
At the end of the concert Peter Hanser-Strecker – the chairman of the board of Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG will make a speech. Composer Wilfried Hiller is presenting the award to Anna Gourari with an honorific speech. The pianist is considered by critics as one of the most outstanding artists of her generation. She made several master classes with Vera Gornostaeva – former pupil of the pianist Neuhaus. Afterwards Anna Gourari continued her studies with Ludwig Hoffmann in Munich, Germany.
Anna Gourari combines in her playing the influences of two outstanding paino schools. She has already worked with such artists as Sir Colin Davis, Iván Fischer, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Sir Roger Norrington. You can meet the pianist at many known festivals and concerts throughout the world.
Her repertoire has a very wide range of composition from all centuries. Rodion Shchedrin and Jörg Widmann worte and dedicated several works to Anna Gourari. She is also awarded with “ECHO Classics” for many of her recordings that were on the top of charts for many weeks. Shortly the pianist was as well awarded with “Diapason D’Or”.
