The opera "Levsha" nominated for five "Golden Masks"

Once again, the yearly given Russian theatre award "Golden Mask" has nominated a work for the stage by Rodion Shchedrin.

In recent years, his ballet "The Little Humpbacked Horse" and the opera "The Enchanted Wanderer" got this award. This year, Shchedrin's latest opera "Levsha" is aspirant in five categories for this prestigious national award at the same time: "Opera/Production", "Composer in a musical production" (Rodion Shchedrin), "Opera/Male singer" (Andrei Popov), "Costume designer in a musical production" (Irina Cherednikova) and "Designer in a musical production" (Alexandr Orlov). The announcement of the awardees and the awards ceremony will take place as usually in the midth of April, this time on 18th, in Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre.
