December 15th, 2017 Tula region State Philharmony presented the audience a concert with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre dedicated to the 85th Jubilee of Rodion Shchedrin.
Valery Sherin greeted the audience and the orchestra also in the name of Alexei Dyumin the Governer of the Tula region – under whose support it was possible to hold this concert:
“It is great honour for us, the historical region of the capital of arms to greet the world renown masters of the music art. I am thankful to Valery Gergiev and all artists of the orchestra for the possibility to hold this great music happening in Tula.
The concert today, is dedicated to the 85th Jubilee of Rodion Shchedrin. I am sure that the orchestra gave lots of great emotions to the people cherishing the art of Rodion Shchedrin, our great Russian composer”.
During the concert the audience could hear the well known piece of Rodion Shchedrin “Carmen Suite”, “Concerto Cantabile” и «Concerto Dolce».
