From September 24 to 29, 2016 Israel spectators can visit a concert series dedicated to Maya Plisetskaya. The concerts represent a gala show under the title “Dedication to Maya Plisetskaya. Carmen Suite. Masterpieces of world ballet”.
The first part of the concert is the Israel premiere of the ballet “Carmen Suite” written by Rodion Shchedrin on the themes of the George Bizet opera “Carmen”. The title role will be danced by the honoured soloist of Mariinksy Theatre Sofia Gumerova the male part of Jose will be danced by her theatre partner Igor Kolub.
The second part of the gala evenings consists of a series of ballet scenes which brought worldwide acknowledgement to Maya Plisetskaya. Soloists of Bolshoi, Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky Theatres will present these scenes to the public.

The concerts will be held in Haifa on November 24, in Auditorium hall, Ashkelon on November 27 in Gehal a-Tarbut Hall, Jerusalem in Sharover Hall on November 28 and Tel Aviv-Jaffra on November 29 in Auditorium Smolarsh.
